Calculate your betting ROI

Enter the total amount staked and total amount returned for the same period. Do not enter your starting bankroll as total staked.

Net profit+50
Betting ROI+5%
FormulaROI = (total returned − total staked) ÷ total staked × 100

With 1,000 staked and 1,050 returned, the net result is +50.

How to calculate betting ROI correctly

Add every settled stake in the period to get total staked. Add all returned amounts, including the returned stake on winning positions. Subtract total staked from total returned to find net profit, then divide that profit by total staked.

Example: if total stakes are €1,000 and returns are €1,050, net profit is €50 and ROI is +5%. If returns are €920, net loss is €80 and ROI is −8%.

ROI, yield and bankroll return

In betting records, ROI and yield commonly use the same calculation: net profit divided by total stakes. Bankroll return instead compares profit with starting capital, so it can produce a different percentage when money is turned over multiple times.

Always state the formula when comparing records. A percentage without its denominator, time period and settled sample can be misleading.

Frequently asked questions

What is the formula for sports betting ROI?

Betting ROI equals net profit divided by total amount staked, multiplied by 100. Net profit is total returned minus total staked.

Is betting ROI the same as win rate?

No. Win rate counts the percentage of settled positions that won. ROI also reflects odds and stake sizes, so two records with the same win rate can have different ROI.

Should I use starting bankroll as total staked?

No. Total staked is the sum of every settled stake in the selected period. Starting bankroll is capital, and using it as the denominator measures a different type of return.
